With my impending elevation to the Office of Black Lion Principal
Herald, this creates an opening and opportunity for a successful
applicant to step up and fill the duties of Contingency Deputy to Black
Lion Principal Herald.<br>
<br>
Applications for the position of Demi-Lion Herald of An Tir are now
open, and will close on 16 August, 2010. Telephone interviews will
follow within a week of that date. It is my intent to have a
decision announced at September Crown and fulfill my obligation under
Kingdom Law of having a Contingency Deputy within 90 days of assuming
Office. This will also finally grant Gwenillian Catharne, our current
Black Lion, her much deserved rest from holding Office.<br>
<br>
The Duties of Demi-Lion Herald will be:<br>
<ul>
<li>To assume the mantle of Black
Lion in the event of an unforeseen vacancy or infirmity of the Office</li>
<li>To act as a reporting deputy, to oversee special projects as
designated
by Black Lion, and</li>
<li>To represent Black Lion and/or the An Tir College of
Heralds at events where Black Lion cannot attend due to scheduling
conflicts. </li>
</ul>
This is a Contingency Deputy position to a Greater officer
of An Tir, and as such successful applicants must be acceptable to not
only Black Lion, but also to the Crown and Kingdom Seneschal.<br>
<br>
A successful applicant will possess the following:<br>
<ul>
<li>Excellent organizational skills.</li>
<li>Good knowledge in the internal workings of the College.</li>
<li>Excellent inter-personal skills.</li>
<li>Good knowledge of Kingdom law and Corpora.</li>
<li>Ready access to the Internet and E-mail.</li>
<li>A willingness to travel across the Kingdom to events.<br>
</li>
</ul>
While the successful applicant will gain valuable experience that could
lead to a successful future application for the Office of Black Lion
Principal Herald, there is no guarantee that a tenure as Demi-Lion will
ensure success in future applications.<br>
