I am speaking to Countess Melissa as we speak regarding Amanda. The 
announcement of Her Excellency's passing is premature.
Any announcement of such in the future will be posted to the Steps by

If you have not heard, it is with sad heart that I relay the passing of
Baroness Amanda Kendal. She had been in hospice for several weeks.


For SCA friends, a sad note to pass on. Baroness Amanda Kendall has passed
on & is now reunited with Baron Gerhard.  I did not know her as well as
some, but she was always kind when we spoke, and a pleasure just to
be around. Its obvious how inspirational she was to the Barony of Lions
Gate, and many other folks of An Tir.  I wish her daughter & other
family strength in dealing with this amidst holiday madness & hope
they still find cheer in remembering the goodness she brought.If you never
had the pleasure of meeting Her Excellency, she was one of the most gracious
and beloved members of our Kingdom. It was my honor to know her for several
years and to have the chance to spend time with her on several occasions.

My heart goes out to her family.

Subject: [rocks] Yule schedule



The schedule for this Saturday's Yule is as follows:
(Please understand that there may be some small changes throughout the day.)

- 2pm - gate opens

- 3pm - Bardic championship begins

- 5pm - Court (during which we will be presenting the entries into the Feast of Immaculate Confection)

- 6pm - Feast begins - 1st Remove

After this times are more fluid:

- Final presentations for Bardic Championship
- 2nd Remove
- a brief pause for judging 
- presentation of prizes for Bardic and the Feast of Immaculate Confection

Then there will be time for dancing, singing, more food and, of course, devouring the amazing Feast of Immaculate Confection. 

10pm - Last Call
11pm - Site closes

These eager youngsters will happily ferry your messages across the hall (I know it?s a small hall, but sometimes it?s just too much effort to get up and deliver a message myself J). They carry notebooks and pens to make it easy to write your missive, note, question, or secret coded message?
