Amanda has asked that this be forwarded to the various lists. My Dear Friends, As some of you know, I have been in the hospital this last month, where I remain. My heart has been touched by the outpouring of love from so many. I can feel it every day. I wish I could have talked to each of you before sending this letter. At first, the doctors thought I had ovarian cancer, but after further testing, they have told me that it is probably uterine and/or cervical cancer. Because it is advanced, it is inoperable. I also have blood clots in my lungs and am retaining water. All of these things mean I am having trouble breathing, trouble eating and am coughing a lot. I will be continuing to receive chemotherapy for pain and other symptom control. I may have two months, I may have less. I may have six months. We take it one day at a time. Please don't ignore pain, and visit your doctor. I have gotten to know all of you at tourneys, wars, banquets, gatherings, workshops and classes. You have all enriched my life, and most of all I had fun. I have so many memories it would take a book to write down, but know that they are burned bright in my heart. Thank you for giving me a wonderful life. I have confidence you will continue to shine as I have always seen you, and that you will continue to pass it forward to others. I hope to be at the banquet celebrating my birthday, and perhaps even Twelfth Night. I love having visitors, cards and letters, emails and phone calls. They are good medicine for my spirits. I have no fear; I look on the future as a grand adventure. I look forward to taking your tales to Gerhard and the others who have gone on before. As Gerhard said: Life is too short. If it is not fun, why are you doing it? All my love, Amanda ______________________________ Greetings again to the populace I have offered to deliver any cards or greetings to Her Excellency. The gathering places are: in North Hartwood it is Mistress Cecille?s, in West Hartwood it is Marina?s and in the South, Lady Scathach and Lord Mischa?s house. Alternately you can attend on your own computer. The Agenda We will return to the discussion of future demos and events. We ran out of time at the last meeting. I would like to see four main events in the shire; a Spring tUTR, a Summer camping event, a Fall indoor event and the Winter White Court. If we can put together a calendar for the coming year it will make our lives much simpler and give us a solid framework for the future. Lady Halima has put together an event proposal form. Please use it. If we manage to get through all that, we may have time to consider a Principality or Kingdom bid. I will remind all officers that year end is when you need to have your next year?s budget ready. So it is time to start thinking about what you need in supplies. See you on the big screen. To aid in this, and because I don't think that this list is a viable forum for this discussion, I present the Tir Righ Kingdom Forums. http://tirrigh.org/kingdom A few of us began this months ago, and were slowly trying to gather some people to talk about the process.? What pieces are we missing?? Unfortunately, I feel that the number one piece we're currently missing, is a large percentage of the population who think that this is a great idea. So, let's talk.? Tell me I'm crazy.? Jump on the band wagon.? (We need a band!)? How fast can we get this done?? Five years?? Two?? Eight months, before our next King and Queen (from Tir Righ, btw...) step down? (Yeah, dad usually works until 2am, a break won't kill him) - We have an additional cot that can be pulled out. - We can probably scrounge for cushions or a blow-up, and so long as people are careful to navigate in the night, can arrange the space. So what I'm saying is: We can house 2 in style, 4 relatively comfortably, 5 is manageable, 6 if we absolutely must. Advise they bring their own pillows.
