Works for me. Thanks for offering Aline.

(I'd be offering to host something weekly but my schedule is too erratic at
present... and I suspect my house is much smaller.)

Keep well,
Val/Elspeth

Subject: [Hartwood] Proposal for Games Night/Bardic

Cunegonda - how many people show up for games/bardic nights (14-16-18
people, maybe?)?
I have been hoping (now that Mischa has our house looking so good) that I
could host an evening at our place, and it seems this might be a nice way to
do it.
(A weekend night would be best, I think, so folks could come down/over,
enjoy, and head back home and (for most?) not have to go to work the next
day - say, a Saturday?)

Our house is very open-plan, but areas can be set up easily for various
activities:
I have our oval table in the dining area (that is a part of the kitchen)
which can seat about 6 people;
we have two folding-leg tables, one seats 4, the other at least 6, and they
can be put end-to-end, if need be, to create one LONG table - perhaps in the
middle of the living room?;
I have my sewing/crafts room for anyone wanting to get together a stitchery
group (I have at least 6 TV tray tables for individuals to use at their
chairs);
singers/musicians might enjoy the entranceway hall or living room, with the
18' ceilings; we even have a loft walkway upstairs, between the sewing/craft
room and our family room, open to both the entranceway and the living room/
kitchen/ dining room, from where some might like to try their skills at
oratory... or an aria... or something Bardic-ish. :-)
We have at least 12 chairs indoors, along with quite a number of outdoor
chairs,and so can accommodate at least 22-24 people.

We do have two cats, who will disappear to the basement or family room when
people arrive, but it is worth noting for those with allergies (you might
want to plan to take an antihistamine); my sewing/crafts room is a cat-free
zone, though, for those who may be sewing/etc. The house is carpet-free,
but there are some woven Persian-style scatter rugs here and there (which I
do manage to keep fairly free of dust and cat hair... mostly... sometimes...
well, when I can... I will vacuum beforehand!), so hopefully, allergies will
not be an issue.

I am away from Jan 20th to 27th (and the 27th is the big *meeting*; Al and I
are away early Feb. for a couple/few days over to Tofino; and then we return
to Victoria for his second surgery, toward the end of February, and after
that he'll be recovering for a bit, at least. But other than that, we are
fairly open and flexible.
If we do it on a Saturday and gather early in the afternoon, and include a(n
organized) pot-luck for supper, we could basically make most of a
day/evening of it - both a 'house-warming' party for us (and what a way to
*warm* up our home!), and a lovely social for the Shire. (If I get myself
organized, I may even set up a 'merchanting' booth, and have for sale some
of my fabrics and other accoutrements.)

Okay - there's the gist of it all... what do you (all) think?

> Okay, so this one is my fault for not getting back to the shire. The next
games night we wanted to be on the 23rd, but I found out a while ago that
was booked, and I figured I'd bring it up at the next council meeting... but
we haven't had one in Dec (Or was I just out of town?) and it slipped my
mind.

(Kingdom A&S), March 16th (Canterbury Faire in Lionsgate), 23rd or 30th.
