Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay would get you way closer, and thus more
quickly to Granville Island than Duke Point Tswassen!

here's how i see the field trip playing out:

North/West hartwoodians carpool down to nanaimo in as few cars as possible.
South hartwoodians carpool in as few cars as possible.
Both groups meet at the ferry terminal (does duke point offer day parking?)
We park the cars in the day parking lot, i don't know how much it costs for
the day but i'm sure if the total cost is shared equally it would be okay.
We go as foot passengers.
When we get to the other side we catch transit down to granville.
We have lots of fun and stuff.
We go home.

Note:  bring backpacks and good shoes.
