Any new authorization signed as of July 1st must be done on these documents. . Four Year Authorization -- (Otherwise known as a "fighter card".) . Recommendation for Marshal Promotion -- (If you're promotion a marshal you must also send a new authorization card.) . Two Year Authorization for youth armored combat participants and marshals . Minor Waiver for Combat Activities -- (The individual version must be sent with the authorization card for YAC or teens fighting with adults. Parents of YAC participants also should retain a copy of this form. Finally there is a roster version to be used at combat practices, or if children are participating in YAC events and do not yet have an individual card.) Equestrian authorizations are still done on the March 2012 form, but they must use the new marshal promotion document. Forms can be downloaded at http://www.antir.sca.org/Pubs/forms/#marshal An Tir accepts electronic copies of the signed documents at Martial-Authorizations (at) antir.sca.org . Please use a good quality scanner, not a camera, so we can correctly read what you wrote. If you would prefer to send things via the postal service, that address is [SCA An Tir Authorizations. 10605 SE 240th Street. PMB# 319. Kent, WA 98031.] Residents of Avacal may also submit documents to Lists Minister HL Adelheid Holtzhauer at lists (at) avacal-sca.org . Equestrian documents may be sent directly to Viscountess Ynesen Ongge Xong Kerij-e at xongkerije (at) gmail.com . If you have not received an email confirmation that your authorization was entered within 60 days, please check in with us so we can help you figure out where it might have been delayed. We also send out notices explaining how to resolve the situation if we cannot enter a card for some reason. You can check your information in the Authorization Database at any time at http://antirlists.org . You can also print out this information to use as a "replacement card" if you lost your original one. I have tips sheets on completing authorization paperwork, youth and practice waivers, and about information that seneschals and event stewards should know about branch marshals and MIC's. If you would like a copy of any of these, please let me know. Thank you for your cooperation. So it's a month until investiture, and things are starting to ramp up here. So many messages! It's exciting, but kind of intimidating at the same time. One of the biggest challenges for our shire is volunteers. It seems whenever something needs to get done, people suddenly come out and help... but up until that moment there's very little security for a steward who's wondering if she's gonna be the only one there. ;) So, keeping the shire informed! Symonne and I will be on site on THURSDAY. We will spend the afternoon, then Friday morning and afternoon setting up. This means: All shire-owned pavillions. Every one of them. Laying out the road-tape. Prepping Gate. Setting up Signs. Setting up TUTR, Welcome Center and Scribal tables/chairs. Setting up the Equestrian Fence. Setting up Lists. Setting up the Archery Range/shelter. A whole lot of this stuff is coming out of Port Alberni, so if anyone in that area is able to assist Symonne on loading onto the flatbed, I'm sure that would be hugely appreciated. Call her. Likewise, if anyone is able to be there to help offload on the site and set up those pavillions, or lay out road tape, it would also be HUGELY appreciated. And even if you are unable to do any heavy lifting, maybe come out and bring us lemonade and your company! Halima will be looking for volunteers for Gate. We'll have a sign up sheet for shifts, and I expect that some of our guests will step up -- but I hope to see some of our own members filling in slots here and there. :) Though waterbearing is unofficial, I will be bringing a large carboy of water and little water cups, and some pickles... (any fighters out there have advice on what they like to see on their 'refreshment table'?) I would love it if someone actually took that under their wing, though, and ensured that there was enough out/refilled. It'll be hot! You will be loved. There will be three heavy fighting tourneys, and at least one archery tourney. I know we have new marshals out there. This is a terrific opportunity not only to fight/shoot, but also to partner with experienced marshals from outside the shire and practice those marshalling skills. Please consider volunteering, if that interests you. Town Criers will be needed. Do you have a big voice? Get some on the spot advice and go! Unpleasant as the job is, I'd also like someone willing to monitor the state of the bathrooms. We have several flush toilets available, so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue, but having someone agree to pop in two or three times a day to just check it out would be terrific. Tear down will be as important as set up -- moreso, really, because this is our first time working with the Lions, and we want to leave a good impression. Friday, 5pm, we will be combing the fields. This works so much faster with more bodies! And once again, assistance in loading, and later in Port Alberni unloading, will be hugely appreciated. Remember, this is a SHIRE event, meant to showcase how far our shire has come. Lets do this as a community! And heck, Thursdays are archery practice. If we get the work done, lets bring our bows and shoot (with John's permission!) ~ Cunegonda the Crazy _______________________________________________ Hartwood mailing list Hartwood at tirrigh.org http://mail.tirrigh.org/mailman/listinfo/hartwood_tirrigh.org Website: http://hartwood.tirrigh.org/ From hartwood at tirrigh.org Sat Jul 26 16:01:08 2014 From: hartwood at tirrigh.org (Hartwood) Date: Sat, 26 Jul 2014 16:01:08 -0700 Subject: [Hartwood] Investiture Help In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: I have one Shire pavillion - poles and top-cover. Getting it to the site on Thursday, however, could be something of an issue. Are there any more pavillions in Nanaimo? If so, how are they all going to be transported to the site? Etc. Because I am doing children's activities most of the day, yet probably won't be arriving till Saturday morning (I don't think camping is going to happen for me unless I win the lottery and get a trailer :-( ) , I'll be tied up doing that set-up, the activities, and clean-up... :-/ ...Hawa > Date: Sat, 26 Jul 2014 12:51:42 -0700 > To: hartwood at tirrigh.org > From: hartwood at tirrigh.org > Subject: [Hartwood] Investiture Help > > Greetings! As you know, the Tir Righ A & S and Bardic Championships are being held at the end of September. http://antir.sca.org/Upcoming/?Event_ID=2597 I have been asked to organize some classes under The University of Tir Righ banner, so I come seeking your help. Knowing that largesse is sought by all levels of Royalty, that the need is on-going, and that it is a wonderful way for people to practice their skills, the theme for this TUTR session is "Largesse: from Theory to Practice." If you are interested in teaching a class on largesse, whether theoretical or practical, at this event, please contact me at halima.dancer at gmail.com, preferably with this form attached: http://tirrigh.org/tutr/forms/TUTR_Class_Proposal.pdf . Questions? Please ask! halima.dancer at gmail.com yours in service, Maulana Halima al-Rakkasa (OP) -- http://www.island.net/~doerksen/
