A beige 'Woods' tent was left behind at the Hartwood Championship & War. It is now cleaned and mended, and re-packed into its bag. It even got a spray of mold-preventer. Goes first to whomever has the poles but not the tent. It was set up at the further end of the camp, near Edward Little. Maybe someone knows the owner and can pass along the information? After that... whomever can make use of it. I'd rather not put a perfectly useful tent into the trash for lack of poles. Going by October 15th. It's taking space in my living room! Please call or send a note to halima.dancer at gmail.com. How are your competition entries coming along? It's just six wee categories - you can do this! Please note that you do not have to enter every category - this is about having fun, and creating. Also, it has been pointed out that I missed a rule that had been discussed - oops! Entries should not have been entered in a previous competition. Craftsperson Contest: This contest will have six categories, and be held at three levels. The categories are: -Leather - Metal - Wood - Textiles - Food (can double as a potluck entry, if feasible, keeping safe food practices in mind) - Paper The three competition levels are: - Child (12 and under) - Youth & Adult - Members of the Orders of the Jambe de Lyon & the Laurel. The winners will be determined by who wins in the most categories. Each category will be determined by peoples? choice. - Each person is limited to one entry per category. - Entries must have been made within the year prior to the contest, and do not have to be completed. - Entries must not have been entered into a previous competition. - Documentation not necessary, but entries should be plausibly period. - Fairly new to the SCA? You can do this! Any questions? Feel free to email me, or post on the Hartwood Yule & Bardic Championship Facebook page. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <5E4120ABA484435A8AE4EFA52A5ACEDD@OwnerPC> How is your preparation and practice for Hartwood's Bardic Championship coming along? Well, here's a gentle nudge, with the hope of inspiring you! A word Bardic Champion, Lady Gwynafel Farleigh: Hello Gentle Populace! Lords and Ladies, Yule is once again upon us, and as such, my tenure as Bardic Champion of Hartwood is coming to an end. This means there must be a Competition to see who can take the position from me! I call upon all that would challenge me to attend this great event and bring forward your Filks to inspire the populace to vote for you! What is a Filk you ask? A Filk is an old tradition of taking a favoured tune and put your OWN words to it. An example is Row, Row, Row your boat. New words: Chop, chop, chop our foe..... you get the idea. The rules: 1. The tune must be one that is recognizable. 2. You must perform at least 3 verses 3. It must have the word Hartwood in it. Do you think you can take the Bardic Candle from me? I DARE you to try. I hope to see you there! Please contact me at wmaiuro at telus.net by November 24, if you intend to compete so that I know how many we have AND how to space the competitors. ***************************************** The nitty gritty site details: 2001 Black Creek Road, Black Creek, BC Site Fee $10.
