Some time ago one of our members came up with a nice idea for a Shire Motto. I think it's spiffy, but if one of you can come up with a good one, surely there's more great ideas out there? For the month of February I'll be accepting ideas for mottos, and in March we'll begin whittling them down. You can send your ideas to the email list, comment on Facebook, or message me directly. Lets see what we can come up with!

So I thought?recreation, the merging of three shires into one, personas, the personal exploration and creative side of the SCA.



I just wondered what the Latin would be. Always curious, me.

 

But it may only work in English.

Why hello there! We need some help. We're looking for a site for our June 24-26th Bootcamp (and spa) event. We've gone through a few options, and now we're putting it out to the members at large -- do you know of a site that's available in June, suitable for 30-50ish to camp, and doesn't cost our collective first borns? The site will need to be archery friendly, and ideally in the Nanaimo area, but we'll range further abroad as we get more desperate. ;) Shoot me a message if you have any leads!

Mountainaire Campground is lovely (we did do a camping event there some years ago - 2010, I think).  I don't know their prices or availability.
I'd like to see a greater focus on trying to get something farther south if possible - it's not for lack of trying on our part(s), I assure you.  Prices and availability are just more difficult here.
The Daffodil site in Cobble Hill is awesome and only 1/2 hour south of Nanaimo - and it would be the 'home' stomping grounds of a couple of our new folk!
Then again, haven't a few new folk indicated that they have acreage?  That might be something we could look at?

Hello Gentles!  We of Hartwood are announcing a brand new event!

It is Hartwood's College of War.

Come one! Come all to the newest event to Hartwood! Hartwood's College 
of War!

Our Site is Approved! Camp Caillet is our new site for the Event! It is 
a great site, with camping under the trees, two fields so we have a site 
for Archery. A covered picnic area for classes, and an actual classroom 
in a separate building, two small cabins with bunks in them for the 
kids, a central Campfire site, 4 portapotties, and tons of room!

There is also a multi roomed long house with adult sized bunks that can 
be rented for $35 a night.

If there is someone interested in doing a food service the Kitchen is 
fully equipped and only $35 a day.

Gate fee for the weekend is $20 per person
Non Member Fee is an extra $5

the morning and continuing until 1 pm. Site Closure is 4 pm.

AND for those that are feeling the pain of training, there will be a 
Fighters Spa run by our own Lady Aniko Melles (Leslie Eaton
