St. Giles College

UVic Medieval Club

The Medieval Club is the real-world identity of the College and as such must adhere to the rules and guidelines as approved by the UVic Students Society (UVSS). In particular, the UVSS insists on a 2/3 students, 1/3 "other" for membership. We have always accepted "other" in the following order: staff, faculty, alumni, spouses/significant-others of previous, general public as official members.

As a club we have a Constitution and Bylaws approved by the UVSS Club's Council. These documents, along with Club's Council policies take precedence if conflicts arise over operating procedures.

The chart below is one way to describe our unique structure as we have blended the mundane and SCA officers into a distinct package.

Coloured boxes indicate officers required by both the UVSS and the SCA. Notice the overlap is only in the chief executive officer of the club.
