[Hartwood] Help with communications

Feeling out of the loop? Communication seems to pass you by? Missed that date-change, and now standing by yourself in an empty hall?

Well of course not, because you're here. But you may have a friend who isn't, and is increasingly frustrated by not really knowing what's going on. They, and we, need your help!

Four of us have decided to get together and act as phone-tree communications volunteers. This is unofficial! But it seems like it may be useful. Your volunteers are:

Nanaimo: Attilla/Aetius Rex
Coombs: Bernice/Julianne le Salles
Port Alberni: Shirley/Fjorlief Fjallsdottir
Courtenay: Danielle/Cunegonda

If there is a meeting notice, event copy, date change, or anything similar thats required for participation in our club, we will chat together to make certain the four of us know and then contact people in our areas who either don't have a computer or simply don't tend to check messages. Alternatively, someone who's feeling more pro-active can contact us and ask, 'Hey, what's the news?' Because we'll know.

So here's the problem... if there's anyone in Courtenay who needs this service I have no way of knowing/contacting them. It's a catch 22. For all of you reading this, I need you to have a good long think about anyone who may want to be included. I need you to ask them if they would like a courtesy call, and I need you to facilitate an exchange of phone numbers. It's a lot of work, I know! But please don't just give me someones phone number without giving them a heads up, I hate cold calling. :(

If anyone needs our contact numbers, please feel free to message me privately. (Whereupon I will ask how I managed to miss getting you a copy of the farspeaker, in which we all have our info. Except me. Because the only typo in the entire darn thing is my own phone number, which actually ends in a 1.)

Thanks! Hopefully this will facilitate a more inclusive atmosphere. :)
