[Utr] Sunshades

I LOVE the idea of getting some sunshades together.
I'd like to throw in a "NO" for portable garages, as a general rule they suck, they are not easy at all to put up, transport or store and they are ugly.
If UTR wants to go the easy pre fabed way I'd rather see 10x10 easy ups... I managed to pick one up from xs cargo for t/a war for only $50 taxes in by asking for a non-profit deal. They fit well together with any other easy ups available, are a nice size for most clases and at the war "hid" quite nicely behind ThuA's bug canvas shade.
that said we've just picked up on of the tarps, all pre treated from Princess Auto that the UTR shades were made of to do one up for the Shire of Ramsgaard- I can let you know whatt the final size/cost/effort if if you'd like.
My 2 cents.~Wrenn

Very good questions, your wise-ness. Personally, I have
nowhere to store such a contraption. I could transport one to events though,
provided they fit on my roof rack. I also like the idea of having a few of them
scattered throughout the principality. That way the closest one could come to
the event at which it was needed.
It really has to be stored by somebody with a garage or a
basement or some other kind of storage facility (and not by a person who lives
with a packrat in a two-bedroom apartment). Does such a person
exist?
Philosophically,

Apparently bribes of chocolate work well. Although bribing
myself was interesting. But tasty.
We also should have the approval of the rest of the financial committee
(Their Highnesses and our Principality Exchequer).
If that is forthcoming, and everyone wants one or more
of these purchased, I can do that. I have a credit card
and I know how to use it.
However,
things to consider before anything is purchased:
Who is going to store it/them?
Who is going to transport it/them?
I can buy it and bring it to Investiture, but could
anyone bring it home? I could bring it back to the mainland, but where will it
go?
Do we buy more than one and have one in the interior, one in the lower
mainland, and one on the Island?
(Which returns us to...who is going to store them and transport
them?)
Discuss. :-)

That seems like a good idea to me, provided we can convince

necessary.

Sunshades
At AT War, THUA had several
sunshades which I thought was a great idea. If UTR decides to follow THUA’s
example, I think that might be an item for which we might consider
fundraising. But we don’t HAVE to (Tir Righ didn’t make the Heralds go
fundraise when they wanted money for consulting books. In fact, we upped
what they asked for.)
On that note, my sister mentioned to me not 15 minutes ago that Canadian
Tire had portable garages on sale (10 x 20). They were called "waterproof
canopies" or something like that. White cover.
Cost: Roof and poles: $99.99
(optional) sides and back -
additional $59.99
You might be able to talk the seneschal into approving the purchase
for one or two, although I hear she can be a real bee-atch.

P.S. I don't know if that sale is local to Victoria or not....
