Hi everyone! We're still waiting to hear back about the bid (there were a
few glitches in the process, but the proposed autocrat is sorting those out
this evening) but since there aren't any other bids for this event, I
thought I'd share with you all the UTR parameters of our bid.
It's now a 1-day event, due to site availability. It will be in a church in
Maple Ridge and I think we'll be able to have six concurrent classes. It's
not as many as I would have liked, but finding a site for this event was
rather difficult so we're making the best of what we've got. The maximum
number of classes (one of the rooms will need to be empty towards the end of
the day for feast-type prep) will be 22, up to four of which can be fighting
classes. There will not be a kitchen available for classes (sad face).
I would love for any and all of you to teach; please let me know if you
would like to. I'll be sending out a general call for teachers once the bid
decision has been made.
Elena, I was wondering if you would be interested in helping me with pre-reg
for the classes? I've never done that before and you are so wise in the ways
of pre-reg.
I believe that this event should be a major UTR session every year (Tir Righ
A&S is to be held mid-November every year and house both the A&S and Bardic
competitions for the principality, though the Bardic will not be held this
year) and that it would be great to have as many deans there as possible. I
see it as sort of an annual opportunity to have a giant learn-a-palooza. The
original site we had chosen was an elementary school with numerous
classrooms available for use. Sadly, that didn't work out so I've scaled
back my plan. But I'd love for us to make this our "cornerstone" event,
inasmuch as such a thing is possible. :)
In any case, please let me know if you'd like to teach and if you have any
ideas for featuring the University alongside the A&S competition at this
event.
