First of all, the UK is a separate heraldic jurisdiction, there can't be any
conflict. IOW, there can be identical arms in different countries (absent protection
of non-SCA arms by Laurel, which only applies to SCA devices anyway).

Second, AIUI the cottises/chevronels and the chevron on the Middleton arms are
considered to be the same basic type, and thus both they and Meagan ferch Meredydd's
device are "simple" for purposes to X.2; as the type(s) of the primary charge group
are substantially different, the arms/device are clear.

Third, if I misunderstand, they are still clear with a CD for changes to the field
(X.4.a.i), the second for change in number in the primary charge group (X.4.f), the
third for changing the type of the primary charge group (X.4.e), and the fourth and
fifth for adding two different secondary charge groups (X.4.b)---Kate's acorns and
cottises are separate secondary charge groups.

Fourth, yes I know you were joking; I just thought it would be fun & interesting to
treat the question seriously. ;-)

The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall, and with each passing day I
feel a little more like something dear was lost.
It rises now before me, a dark and silent barrier between all I am, and all that I
would ever want be.
It's just a travesty; towering, marking off the boundaries my spirit would erase.
