I agree with James in principle, but perhaps not for this particular TUTR.

Combining a fighting event/workshop with a TUTR is generally the best of
both worlds. It provides something for everyone and gives a reason for
-all- members of a household to travel to the event.

When you can do that, the chances of attendance increase hugely. When you
appeal to only one member of a household, you have to really sell the event
in order to have people attend your event and not go somewhere else, or
choose to stay home and spend the time together (and save the money).

So the -more- things you can plan to happen at an event the better. Leave
them wishing that they had had more time to do X. Leave them wishing to
come back to the event again and catch it next time :) Above all, don't
leave them bored... there may not be a next time and that can kill your
event.

As what is already being proposed for this event is:
- Heraldic TUTR
- Heraldic Symposium
- Scribal TUTR

What is being planned is for a select bunch. I'd recommend looking at
expediting ferry for people (but make them come in bunches at specific
times), lodging, and planning a non-meal tavern night.

If it could be arranged to have a fighting workshop to run alongside, that'd
be awesome: but not a pas. A pas requires participation from the
non-fighting populace and that draws away from the TUTR. Workshops will
only engage the fighting populace, and there is a crossover between
heraldic/scribal and the fighting arts, but it's small.

How's that sound?
