[Hartwood] TuTR Courses (was Seth)

If we're offering courses...

Halima has all my notes and images for a History of Illumination Ithra
course I developed and have taught multiple times.

If I could get those back - and I'm sure I can ... grin! ... I could offer
that for the Scribal section.

I'd need to convert them to digital of course. Way back in the dark ages, it
was done with a slide projector.

Keep well,
Val/Elspeth

I SO want to do more silk banner painting! I need something to attach to my
bicycle when I ride to events. Also, I'm eager to further my knowledge of
Japanese braiding because my dog is Japanese and it would be awesome to have
a real Japanese braided lead for him... :D

Depending on dates and times I would love to teach target archery arrow
construction (depending on Willem's availability) or my kumihimo class. Just
because I think everyone should know how to make their own arrows or do
Japanese braiding.

And while I can't speak for my Lady I know she itching to teach more silk
banner painting.

With a TUTR that runs heavily to the arts, adding some sciences would round
out the menu and entice fighter/archers. Willem has an arrow making
workshop he can teach and I strongly suspect our newest members settling up
in the north have much to share of their knowledge.

That said, the venue will dictate how many and what sort of classes can be
managed. I look forward to the proposal and the discussion.

Rapier and Heavy tournaments were run alongside last year's Heraldic
Symposium, but there were not very many spectators, as they were all in
class. For that matter, there weren't a lot of participants either. I
would like to keep the focus on learning. Stick to the KIS principle. Once
we have a venue, we can decide if there can be any fighter-specific classes,
though leather armoring and the like would be as doable as any other class.

There will need to be a meal following classes on Saturday - it can be
either a feast or potluck, and can be organized by someone other than the
event steward - though Kjartan managed that part no problem at this years
TUTR.
