My lords and ladies, sirs and madams,

I would respectfully like to steer your attention to part of my heraldry
website here: http://www.atelierderaaf.nl/html/sca.html

I am a professional herald and heraldic artist, as well as a graduated
medieval historian, specialised in medieval heraldry. The pages in this
corner of my website show some of the solutions I have devised for some of
the problems SCA heraldry poses. As an example I have redrawn some arms of a
few of my friends who are SCA members. They have given me permission to put
these examples on my pages and are very happy with my restyling. I could
also do them for your members and make really medieval looking arms for
them. They will fit exactly with their chosen period, even pre 1125.

Besides this I have also made some proposals of clearer, less cluttered
Kingdom heraldry: http://www.atelierderaaf.nl/html/kingdoms.html. I know
that the present arms have a long tradition, but perhaps you can see that,
while preserving the crown and wreath around the shield, the central charges
become much more significant. They also acquire a more medieval 'look'. I am
fully aware that it will take quite some getting used to these kinds of
changes, but I would be glad if you would only consider it. Any comment is
of course welcome.

Furthermore, I have shown some ways in which SCA members' arms could be
adapted for flags in a really medieval manner:
http://www.atelierderaaf.nl/html/flags.html. Lords may have real period
banners and knights similar pennons in this way.

The combination of about 35 years of acquiring heraldic knowledge and
experience in the art of heraldry puts me in an excellent position to be a
consultant on all things heraldic. As you may see from my price-list,
drawings you might want to order from me are very reasonably priced because
I can do them on the pc: http://www.atelierderaaf.nl/html/armspricesusd.html
and http://www.atelierderaaf.nl/html/flagpricesusd.html.

Please feel free to ask for more information; your mails will be promptly
answered.

Faithfully yours,

Henk C. 't Jong MA

Heraldist.
